Inside New York City’s Grandest Winter Wonderland Supper Club & Spectacle

Revel Rouge hosted a Christmas celebration inside one of New York City’s most grandiose Gothic spaces, The Angel Orensanz Foundation. The venue is a former synagogue with soaring ceilings, heavy arches, and unparalleled architectural detail. The building’s dramatic scale and vertical lines set an awe-inspiring atmospheric tone, but rather than amplify its natural severity, we reshaped it.

Guests were guided upstairs for cocktail hour at the ‘Keys’ Ski Chalet’, an intimate alpine lounge wrapped above the main floor. Draped in plush furs and layered winter textures, the space evoked the warmth of a private ski lodge, with the subtle scent of pine drifting from surrounding Christmas trees. From the balcony, guests looked out over a winter wonderland below, a scene fit for an ice queen, as though gazing through the windows of a grand European chalet onto a snow-covered tundra. The mouthwatering food was endless by the brilliant Marcey Brownstein.

After cocktails, guests descended to the main level, where the transition into dinner unfolded with intention. To find their table assignments, they searched for their names on edible cookie ornaments by Keremo Bakery nestled among icy white Christmas trees lining the entrance hallway. The experience culminated in an immediate sensory shift as a live marching band, Brass Monkey, welcomed guests into the space, signaling that the evening would unfold as a fully immersive production.

Through icy winter textures, cool-toned lighting, and snowflake projections dancing between the tables, the main floor was transformed into a cinematic winter wonderland. Chilled crystal chandeliers shimmered overhead, while reflective mirrored tables lined the floor. VIP guests were placed in a front-row setting that blurred the line between audience and performance.

Florals appeared as though they had been kissed by snow, delicate yet sculptural, reinforcing the illusion of a frozen landscape brought indoors. Each place setting was curated specifically for its guest, featuring custom decals with individual names applied to mirrored plates, that imitated the reflective nature of untouched snow.

The evening unfolded with the pacing and polish of a Broadway-caliber production. Guests dressed to the nines in what felt like a red-carpet winter extravaganza, seamlessly becoming part of the spectacle themselves. Performances throughout the night were commanding and emotionally resonant, with standout moments from the New York Bronx Gospel Choir and LennAsia Harvey, whose voices filled the soaring space and held the room.

One of the most memorable moments came when the entire guest list joined together to sing The Twelve Days of Christmas, each table assigned a verse, transforming the audience into the cast and reinforcing the collective nature of the experience.

What made the event truly unforgettable was the interplay between old and new. A historic synagogue reimagined through a contemporary lens, transformed into a larger-than-life winter wonderland designed not as décor, but as an environment to be inhabited. This was not simply a holiday party, but a fully realized production that felt warm, intimate, and distinctly New York.

The celebration marked the largest and most successful event Revel Rouge has produced to date, a milestone defined by precision. We look forward to continuing to grow together in the new year, creating experiences that push boundaries and redefine what is possible.

Happy Holidays from the Revel Rouge Family.
