BLOG 55: Revel Rouge Hosts “Beauty & Books” at The Shafer Clinic

Revel Rouge presented Beauty & Books at The Shafer Clinic, an event that combined literature, beauty, and indulgence. Co-hosted by Alix Strauss and Dr. David Shafer, and produced by Hank Stampfl, the celebration featured live readings, luxury brand experiences, and sweeping views of Manhattan.

The literary program presented readings and signings by Alix Strauss (The Joy of Funerals ), Nicola Kraus (The Best We Could Hope For ), and Ali Rosen ( Unlikely Story ). While talking with the authors about the event, they all remarked the need for community in the literary space and the importance of word of mouth when it comes to making novels successful and accessible. Each still working on their next big thing like Ali Rosen’s new book coming out this winter or Nicola Kraus’s thriving business coaching other authors, the event offered a unique experience to tap into the literary space from many different perspectives.

The magic of the night was made by transforming the clinic with floral arrangements by Posy Floralsand guests exploring experiential stations throughout the event. These included custom fragrances at the MAIR fragrance bar, fine caviar from XO Caviar, pastries from Kermo Cakes, cookies from Two Moms And A Whisk, and dishes by Chef Carlos Manansala. A display from Hazen Essential Skincareby Dr. Alexes Hazen offered a rejuvenating element to the event.
