BLOG 48: Independent for Independence Day

Few occasions evoke the spirit of national pride like Independence Day. Traditionally marked by relaxed gatherings, grilled fare, and the familiar palette of red, white, and blue, these celebrations are deeply woven into the American cultural fabric. Yet, when curated by Revel Rouge, even the most iconic traditions are reimagined with the utmost elegance and energy.
On July 5th, Revel Rouge had the immense pleasure of transforming tradition into an unforgettable expression of American sophistication, hosted by, as described by the New York Post, “power couple” Maria and Kenneth Fishel. Set against a backdrop that married Americana with refinement, the event embodied the best of patriotic celebration through Revel Rouge’s characteristic high-end curation. In our meticulously designed setting, white represented purity, blue signified honor, but red… or rather, rouge…captured the spirit of celebration.

The event held notable significance as it spotlighted the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization committed to supporting veterans, first responders, and their families. The foundation’s extraordinary mission to provide mortgage-free homes for the families of fallen or injured service members, and to combat veteran homelessness through housing and support services, brought a layer of depth to the afternoon. It was a privilege for us to serve the multitude of veterans and their families in attendance. And in the middle of it all, the event’s guest of honor, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, offered a powerful and inspiring message.
As always, culinary excellence was a cornerstone of the event. Acclaimed chef Carlos Manansala presented superb American cuisine, beginning with a delectable series of haute passed hors d’oeuvres and culminating in an exquisite, assorted main meal. The dining experience was complemented by timeless sophistication with each sip and bite. And vivid flowers infused every corner of Maria and Ken’s magnificent Hamptons’ property with pertinent detail.
The Baby Soda Jazz Band, with its distinctive, traditional instrumentation of horns, banjo, one string box bass, and low-boy hi-hat and wood-block percussion section, evoked the rich history of our country and its independence. The band’s music was joyful and celebratory, ushering in not only the irresistible smell of mini-apple pies, but meditations on our nation’s beauty and strength. At Revel Rouge, we believe that a meaningful celebration lies in the ability to create immersive moments that linger in memory.
